LUNA
Luna Physical Exhibit

Luna encapsulates the nostalgia of the traditional Filipino home, as well as reminiscing the memories we had when we were younger. As we grow old, we tend to look back to the past where life was simple in the eyes of a child. The section Luna wants to bring this sense of nostalgia to life with its two installation arts, “LUMA” and “Alpas”, accompanied by our other artworks from “Alamat ni Alitaptap”.

LUMA | LUMAH

LUMA (or LUMAH) means house or home in Yakan. This installation art imitates the feeling of a provincial home outside the city, wherein traditional Filipino objects are found. Decorated with objects that are common in Filipino households like sungka and old radio, this installation art is meant to bring in nostalgia and a sense of comfort to the audience, which perfectly resonates with the main theme of the exhibit.
ALPAS

Alpas, or take off in Filipino, is meant to bring you a sense of nostalgia. The paper planes, alongside the paper cranes, represent the simplicity and simple joys of our early childhood. Now that we’ve grown older, we are set to take off from our childhood and look back at these memories from afar.

MALANG
Pillow Fort

The Pillow Fort is as simple as it sounds; a literal pillow fort. A makeshift fort constructed using blankets, and furnished with pillows and various stuffed toys. The Pillow Fort is the embodiment of childlike wonder and creativity, creating a home within their home. Though the experience of reliving a childhood dream may be fleeting, simply reliving a bygone memory is sure to satisfy the inner child within all of us.
Malang Physical Exhibit

Malang manifests the childhood dream and embraces the diversity of life. The innocence and boundless curiosity of a child is an experience that we all are fond of and something that we harbour within ourselves through the years of living a hectic and complex life. Section Malang wishes to capture this sense of childlikeness and growing up with their installation art: “Pillow Fort”, “Contrast of Worlds”, “Winds of Memories”, and “Balance in Life”, accompanied by various artworks, notably from a previous exhibit “Hiblang Makiling”.

Winds of Memories

Winds of Memories is a simple display of paper cranes hanging off the ceiling tipped with a memory from the class of section Malang. It is simply a love letter made by Malang, for Malang. It is through WoM that we wish to express that simple shared experiences will be able to carry you through life, like a gust of Wind breezing by, giving comfort and warmth.
Contrast of Worlds (C.O.W.)

Contrast of Worlds showcases the great difference in our state of mind. One side seems colorful and happy, bright and cheerful, while the other is monotonous. But one cannot exist without the other, as the absence of one side makes for a rather bland life. Visitors are free to write on either side of CoW, expressing their happy and inspirational thoughts on one side and venting their frustrations and worries on the other. This interactive experience creates a wonderful space that is unique and rapidly changing, with touches of many different colors and personalities left by passing visitors. CoW displays the importance of diversity in our life, mixing colors and shades to create a beautiful painting that is life.
Balance in Life

Balance in Life displays symmetry, with the black and white koi fish reflecting each other, creating a classic symbol of peace and balance. The individual artist wishes to impart their experience in balancing their life, be it their school or personal life, and share that experience through a carefully and meticulously crafted piece of art.
